Hi! I’m María Belén Nuñez (she). Nice to e-meet you! 

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in English Certified Translation, and I am registered with renowned professional associations, such as CTPCBA (Argentina) and NZSTI (New Zealand). I am also a NZTA-approved translator for driver licences.

In 2021, to further specialize in gender I started a Master’s Degree in Gender, Society and Policy at FLACSO and in 2022 I obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Sciences, with major in Gender and Policy.  

Moreover, I cofunded and cohost a podcast with Mariana Fávila Alcalá, an amazing Mexican colleague, called ‘Tradhumanas de Nuestramérica,’ where we focus on the human aspect of great women in the translation and interpreting industry​ and their contributions.

​I have been working in the translation industry for over eight years with different types of clients —direct, agencies, government bodies, NGOs, entrepreneurs.—; and from different standpoints: as a freelance translator, as in-house translator for a government agency, and also as the co-founder of a work team (Nuaviz Translations). 

I specialize in gender and policy (gender studies, non-sexist and non-binary language, diversity and human rights). I also have vast experience in medical translation (particularly sexual and reproductive health and gynecology).

However, it is not only my academic background and work experience that ensure the quality of my work, but my passion: I truly love my profession and I always go that extra mile.
